Surrounded by wild and atmospheric moorland, the charming village of Haworth in West Yorkshire is a place to visit and fall in love with. Its quaint cobbled main street lined by pretty independent stores make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, and the rough and rugged moorland that surrounds it makes it a walkers paradise.  Home to the Bronte sisters, famous English authors, and poets, Haworth village is where Wuthering Heights characters Cathy and Heathcliff were born and where Jane Eyre came to life. You can almost hear the eerie cries of the ghostly characters as you explore the mystical alleyways and desolate moors. Haworth is a village that truly brings the past to life.  Meet at the Parkinson Building steps at 9:45 am to depart at 10:00 am.   This trip is not guided, once we reach Haworth, you are free to explore the city on your own. An email will be sent out at least 1 day before the trip detailing the official travel itinerary and a list of recommended places to visit within the town. We will be arriving back in Leeds at approximately 5:00 pm (depending on traffic). Ticket includes direct transport to Haworth and a direct return back to Leeds via a private coach hire. The coaches will have a toilet on board and passengers will be fellow University of Leeds students.  A trip leader will be present for the trip, and they will be your first point of contact on the day. If you are late during pick up/drop off, there will be a phone number available - which will be emailed to you- for you to contact the trip leader on the day so they can inform the coaches to wait for you. Please be aware, the coaches can only wait for a maximum of 10 minutes IF the trip leader has been informed. Pick-up/drop-off will be at Parkinson Steps. All tickets are non-refundable.
